Auburn DC Ron Roberts responds to criticism of defense vs. Georgiaâs Brock Bowers
Auburn defensive coordinator Rob Roberts took to social media Saturday following Auburn’s 27-20 loss to No. 1 Georgia to respond to a fan who was frustrated with the way the Tigers played.
A college football fan posted on “X,” the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, to point out the lack of success against Georgia’s Brock Bower.
“Yet we didn’t double/bracket this guy,” the fan posted in reference to the Georgia tight end’s eight catches for 157 yards and a score.
Roberts reposted with the comment with his own analysis.
“Don’t know what game you we’re watching! He was bracketed most of the day,” he said in response.
With Georgia’s No. 1 ranking and lengthy winning streak on the line, Brock Bowers caught a 40-yard touchdown pass from Carson Beck in the final minutes of the win over Auburn.
The Bulldogs made it the Beck-and-Bowers show in the fourth to bail out of another slow start and SEC scare. Georgia has won 22 in a row. Bowers had four catches for 121 yards in the fourth quarter and Beck passed for 313 yards, most of it in the second half.
